Synopsis
"Beyond the Boundary" (Kyokai no Kanata) is a TV anime produced by Kyoto Animation, broadcast in 2013. Set against a townscape evocative of Nara, it follows the Spirit World Warriors who hunt otherworldly beings called "youmu," and the young people drawn into their world. Akihito, a boy fond of glasses, meets Mirai Kuriyama, a Spirit World Warrior able to wield her own blood as a weapon. As they confront their loneliness and inner struggles, the two grow closer. Blending school-life scenes, battle action, and delicate emotion, it is a dreamlike coming-of-age fantasy.
