Synopsis
"Kaiju No. 8" is a TV anime produced by Production I.G, broadcast in 2024, based on the manga of the same name by Naoya Matsumoto. Set in a near-future Japan where kaiju frequently appear, the story centers on Kafka Hibino, who works clearing away kaiju corpses. Once an aspiring Defense Force soldier who fell short of his dream, Kafka gains the power to transform into a kaiju himself after a certain incident. Torn between his identity as a human and the strength he wields as a kaiju, he sets out—alongside his comrades—to walk the path of a Defense Force soldier and protect people, in a powerful battle-action series.
