Synopsis

"Dandadan" is a TV anime produced by Science SARU, broadcast from 2024, based on Yukinobu Tatsu's manga of the same name. Momo Ayase, an occult-loving girl who believes in ghosts but not aliens, and Ken Takakura, a boy who believes in aliens but not ghosts, each set out to prove the other wrong through a test of courage. In doing so, they encounter the "impossible" beings the other denied, spirits and extraterrestrials, and end up gaining strange powers. Blending frenetic battles where yokai and aliens collide with the sweet, awkward closeness growing between the two teens, it is an exhilarating entertainment drawn with overwhelming animation.

Why visit the real-life locations

One of the settings depicted in Dandadan is Hanno City in Saitama Prefecture. In particular, Hanno-gawara is an open riverside area along the Iruma River, a relaxing spot where locals and visitors enjoy playing in the water and having barbecues. Visiting in search of the Hanno scenery that appears in the series, you can feel the everyday air in which Momo and Ken spend their days.
