Why visit the real-life locations
This title is set in Showa-era Japan, but most of the story centers on psychological and intellectual battles within the enclosed space of a mahjong parlor, rather than on touring specific sights or landmarks. Because the setting is the Showa past, retracing the streetscapes of that era on location is not straightforward. To appreciate the work's appeal, the best way is to savor the tense mind games of its mahjong duels through the original manga and anime. Should real filming locations or associated places suitable for a pilgrimage be confirmed, they may be added in a future registration.
